Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Zorrent app for Android and this website. Zorrent is developed by Najam (najmiter), referred to here as “we” or “us”. By installing or using Zorrent you agree to these terms.
The short version
- Zorrent is a free BitTorrent client. It doesn’t provide, host or index any content.
- You are responsible for what you download and share, and for following the laws that apply to you.
- Don’t use Zorrent to infringe copyright or to break the law.
- The app is provided as is, with ads, and without warranties.
1. Acceptance
These terms apply to the Zorrent app for Android (package com.najmiter.zorrent) and to this website. If you don’t agree, don’t install or use Zorrent. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, or have the permission of a parent or guardian.
2. The app
Zorrent is a general-purpose BitTorrent client. It lets you add torrents and magnet links, download the files they describe, and share pieces of them with other peers. Zorrent does not provide, host, index, recommend or have any control over the content available on the BitTorrent network, and has no built-in search for copyrighted material.
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the app at any time, including features, supported Android versions and ad placements.
3. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Zorrent on Android devices you own or control, for lawful purposes and in line with these terms. All rights not granted are reserved. The Zorrent name, logo and app design belong to us. Third-party components in the app remain under their own licenses.
You may not:
- copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app, except where its licenses allow it;
- reverse engineer or modify the app, except where the law gives you that right;
- remove or interfere with the ads, or tamper with ad requests, impressions or clicks;
- use the app in a way that harms the BitTorrent network, other users, or our or Google’s services.
4. Your responsibility
You alone are responsible for the torrents you add, the files you download and the data you upload to others. You must make sure you have the legal right to download and share that content. Laws on copyright and file sharing differ between countries, and it is your job to know and follow the ones that apply to you.
BitTorrent is peer-to-peer: your IP address is visible to the trackers and peers you connect to, and others can download pieces of your files while a torrent is active. Zorrent does not hide your identity.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Zorrent to:
- download, share or distribute content that infringes someone else’s copyright or other rights;
- download, share or distribute child sexual abuse material or any other content that is illegal to possess;
- distribute malware, or attack or disrupt networks, trackers, peers or services;
- break any law or regulation that applies to you.
We may restrict or end your access to the app if you break these rules.
6. Copyright and takedowns
We respect intellectual property rights. Because Zorrent hosts no content, we can’t remove files from the BitTorrent network. If you believe the app itself, or this website, infringes your rights, write to us at the address below with a description of the work, where it appears, and your contact details, and we’ll look into it.
7. Advertising
Zorrent is free and supported by ads served by Google AdMob. By using the app you accept that ads are shown. How ad data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy. We aren’t responsible for the content of ads or for the websites and apps they link to.
8. Third parties
The app connects to trackers, peers and services that we don’t own or control, and may link to third-party websites. We aren’t responsible for their content, availability, practices or policies. Your use of Google Play and Google services is governed by Google’s own terms.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles. It forms part of these terms.
10. No warranty
Zorrent is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that downloads will complete, or that downloaded files are safe, accurate or legal. Files from the BitTorrent network may contain malware; scan what you download.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or device function, arising from your use of Zorrent or the content you download. Where liability can’t be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app, which is zero. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, damages and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from content you download or share with Zorrent, or from your breach of these terms or of the law.
13. Termination
You can stop using Zorrent at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your right to use the app if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including 4, 10, 11 and 12, will do so.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, mention it in the app or its release notes. Continuing to use Zorrent after a change means you accept the new terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This doesn’t remove any mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence.
